About John

I’ve enjoyed graphics since I learned I could dither them on a herc monitor back in ’93. I’m not a real graphic designer, but more of a hobbyist / enthusiast. Kind of a digital Jack of all trades. I’m an MCSA and a network administrator by trade, but I’m also an amateur photographer, web developer and classic music lover. Though I do enjoy Mozart in particular, by classic I am referring more to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Boston, Kansas, Supertramp, Journey, ELO, Bad Company, Rush, Def Lepard, ad infinitum ad nauseum… you get the picture. I know enough about graphics to be dangerous, enough to allow me to have some fun with my digital photography habit. I shoot a mid level Nikon SLR and I love the flexibility of the 18-200mm VR lens. Alas, despite my technical prowess and deep understanding of all things digital, my wife still takes better pictures than me.
My site is centered around everything digital so don’t be afraid of going a little off topic. With any luck, my eldest boy will be joining me and sharing his infinite wisdom on many topics as well. He has actually gone through some schooling for graphic design, and while I play around with Photoshop elements and i-Photo, he’s got the full Creative Suite 4 on his Mac. It’s kind of handy, as he takes care of all our website transparency needs.
